With the support of EFF, the Free Software Foundation is organizing a flash protest against DRM at a big Windows conference in Seattle *tomorrow* (5/23) at 8am. You could do it before work. :) These sorts of protests can seem a bit impotent if you don't have at least a few dozen people so it's really important that folks show up for this. It's the kickoff for the FSF's big anti-DRM campaign and it's a very big deal and, IMHO, very important that its successful. DRM is alreading taking hold in some important ways and if don't fight this now, we're all going to be in a lot of trouble. Raising awareness is the best way to do that and this protest will do exactly that. If I had the money or the time, I would consider flying back from Boston for this. It's that important. If you are in the area, you should *really* considering getting in contact with the FSF folks and showing up for this! All the details necessary are in the attached email. If you can't go but know someone who can, please consider forwarding this message or the forward message on. I hope to see some familiar faces in the news tomorrow. :) Regards, Mako -- Benjamin Mako Hill mako@debian.org http://mako.cc -------------- next part -------------- An embedded message was scrubbed...
